Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Background Whitener (the "Service"), operated at backgroundwhitener.online ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of the Service

Background Whitener is a web-based tool that processes product photos — cleaning backgrounds to white and applying divider grids to collage-style images — for e-commerce sellers and similar users. Processing of your images is performed locally in your browser; your photo files are not uploaded to or stored on our servers as part of the core editing feature.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Credits, Subscriptions, and Payment

• New accounts receive 3 free credits, one-time, on signup. Certain features beyond that require purchasing credits or an active subscription plan.
• Prices and credit allotments are as displayed on the Service at the time of purchase and may change with notice.
• Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full payment card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to process images you do not have the right to use.
• Attempt to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or access controls (including creating multiple accounts to claim additional free credits).
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service without our written permission.
• Upload or process content that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.

5. Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the photos you process using the Service. We do not claim any ownership over your images. Because processing happens locally in your browser, we do not have access to your image content.

6. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that processing results will meet your specific requirements (for example, marketplace-specific photo compliance rules). You are responsible for verifying that output images meet the requirements of any platform you use them on (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Etsy).

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost sales, lost time, or listing rejections by third-party marketplaces. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
